Women in Sciences initiative visited iQanat school.

Galym Project Foundation supported the Women in Sciences initiative to visit iQanat school in Burabay.

Women in Sciences is a club that unites STEM professors and students of Nazarbayev University. One of the activities of the initiative is to hold meetings with school kids, where they explain about scientific research and careers in science.

The trip to iQanat was mainly to introduce the specifics of career in science: the students shared about scientific research, scientific research work on bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs, and how research helps in building a career path.

“We really enjoyed this trip because the children were very interested. We see they are open-minded and hungry for knowledge.
Science is not only about working in an academic environment; when you do science, it allows you to develop skills that are necessary in everyday life. For example, after a master’s degree, you can work in industry and use research skills, or you can continue to work in the academic field,” notes Dana Alina, astrophysicist, Nazarbayev University professor, Women in Sciences project initiator.

We would like to remind you that Galym Project Foundation continues to support ideas and initiatives to popularize science in Kazakhstan.
