The Academic Club “American Chemical Society International Student Chapter” of Nazarbayev University held a presentation featuring experienced students who successfully enrolled in doctoral and master’s programs abroad. During the informational session, the university’s graduates and club members (4th year students) shared their experiences in the application process and internship search.
Among the speakers was Amir Zholdasbekov, who was successfully admitted to ETH Zurich and the University of Basel, receiving scholarships from DAAD, Erasmus, and Shakhmardan Yessenov. He completed summer internships at Friedrich-Alexander University, AIFC, and KazAzot, and currently works at the Advanced Nanomaterials Laboratory. Amir presented his research at the APMAS 2023 (Turkey) and ACS Spring 2024 (USA) conferences, and preparing an article for RSC Advances.
Azamat Esengazin, specializing in Chemistry, is also a successful student. He completed internships at Ohio State University (USA) and the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (Japan) before being accepted at KAUST and 7 universities in the USA. Azamat won competitions organized by the Yessenov Foundation, Mereke Foundation, and Konrad Foundation. He has 2 published works to his credit and has participated in 4 conferences.
